I appeal from here to public leaders, from all ends of the political spectrum, and for the first time in eight years I do so not as a political rival, but as a citizen of the State of Israel: do not take us back to October 6, be brave enough to bring about real change. Put the old conceptions aside and do not surrender to the old camp politics. I warn you - if this does not happen, the people will continue to be torn apart and we will reach repeat elections or, God forbid, disaster. The political reality has become a trap that deepens the rift in the people and makes it hard for us to open a new chapter in the history of Israel. A chapter of shared responsibility out of the belief that the great majority of the people want to be partners in our covenant of fate. On 7/10/23 the sky fell on the State of Israel, which for the first time since its founding was under an existential threat. At that time - when thousands of my people, my brothers and sisters, were massacred, and hundreds were kidnapped, when entire communities were overrun, I chose to get under the stretcher. I told my partners that very morning that I was doing so knowing that it might carry a heavy political price. For me, every girl and boy who returned from captivity, every fighter who went out to battle armed with faith in the unity of Israel - they are the supreme test of my actions. And therefore, this evening too, I am at complete peace with the most important choice of my public life. And if, God forbid, I am required to do such a thing in the future, I will do it again without hesitation. I grew up in a rooted home, which carried the memory of the Holocaust and the journey of revival. A home, an education and military service that instilled in me the DNA of a soldier who always shows up, even when the battle is hard. I will always be committed to putting the good of the country before any other consideration, and to serving with love and pride the people among whom I grew up and served. The people whose future I carry in my heart. The people whose members from all parts of society I love. And out of this love I will continue my mission. I will do so so that the phrase 'Our strength is in our unity' does not remain merely a faded sticker on a bus stop bench, as a symbol of the beginning of the war. My life's mission is to connect the parts of Israeli society and to help build a shared future, and I will do so in every way I can. So it was and so it will be. The greatest thanks go to you, citizens of Israel, whom I have the privilege of serving in good days and especially in hard days. I always was, and forever will be - a soldier of Israel, before everything.

In my view, sadly and regardless of political position, when a man who says unity and shouts unity is left without voters, it also says something about us as a society.

President Donald Trump, too, has emphasized more than once the importance of Netanyahu's leadership for Israel's security. In my view, there is great truth in that. But this story is not only political or security-related. For me, it is also a story of faith. I believe that the Creator of the world protects the people of Israel, and that throughout the generations He provides us with people of special abilities at the moments when we need them most. In my eyes, Netanyahu is one of them. I write these words also from my life experience. After 17 years in the United States and Europe, where I raised a family, I was privileged to return with my family to the land of our forefathers. I returned out of a deep belief that we have no other land, and that our existence here is not something to be taken for granted. That is why it pains me to see the ingratitude, the contempt and the unbearable lightness with which people dismiss achievements of decades of work. One can disagree with Netanyahu. One can criticize decisions; arguments are part of a healthy democracy. But there is a huge difference between substantive criticism and erasing the life's work of a man who devoted decades to Israel's security. And to those who complain endlessly, I wish to remind: every morning we open our eyes in the Land of Israel, we must thank the Creator of the world for our very existence. Nothing is to be taken for granted. And when you go to the ballot box again, think carefully about in whose hands you are entrusting the future of your children, the security of the state and our very existence here. In my view, there is no leader today with the experience, abilities and strategic vision of Benjamin Netanyahu. The responsibility to choose correctly rests on all of us. Gratitude is not weakness.
