Benny Gantz, born in Kfar Ahim, was IDF Chief of the General Staff (2011–2015). He founded Israel Resilience in December 2018 and led the Blue and White alliance, which tied or beat Likud in the 2019 elections. He served as Defense Minister and Alternate Prime Minister (2020–2022) and joined Netanyahu's emergency government and war cabinet after 7 October 2023, resigning in June 2024. He heads the Blue and White list in 2026.
Founded Israel Resilience (2018), which formed the Blue and White alliance with Yesh Atid and Telem (2019); the alliance split in 2020 when Gantz joined Netanyahu's government. In 2022 Blue and White joined Gideon Sa'ar's New Hope to form National Unity, which Gadi Eisenkot also joined; New Hope left in March 2024 and Eisenkot later left to found his own party. Gantz runs in 2026 under the Blue and White name.
