Yoav Segalovitz is a retired Israel Police major general born in Tel Aviv. He was the first head of the Lahav 433 national crime unit (2008) and headed the police Investigations and Intelligence Division from 2009 to 2013. He entered the Knesset for Yesh Atid (within Blue and White) in 2019 and was deputy minister of public security in the Bennett–Lapid government (2021–2022), where he worked on reducing crime and violence in Arab society. In August 2026 he resigned from the Knesset and from Yesh Atid and joined Ra'am as its no. 2, the first Jewish candidate on the Arab party's list.
Joined Yesh Atid in 2016; elected on the Blue and White joint list in 2019–2020 and on Yesh Atid's list afterwards. Resigned from the Knesset on 9 August 2026 (replaced by Michal Slawny Cababia) and joined Ra'am on 31 August 2026 in what has been described as a personal/technical alliance.

Translation Minister of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Amichai Chikli in response to the remarks of Yoav Segalovitz about his joining Ra'am: "I have seen many strange things in Israeli politics, but I have never seen such a low. This is a Zionist apocalypse, total bankruptcy and turning one's back on the people and the homeland. Zionism, Mr. Segalovitz, means Jewish nationalism. Period, that and nothing more. The term "Israeli" is not a Rorschach blot either. True, in the State of Israel there has developed, and it's good that it has, an Israeli civic identity that allows members of minorities to take part in building the country and defending its borders. But the one and only reason for the State of Israel's existence is to allow the people of Israel, the Jewish people, a sovereign national existence. Without this foundation there is no meaning to the state emblem, the flag and the anthem. The name Israel has no existence detached from the people of Israel, the Land of Israel and the Torah of Israel, the threefold cord that is not quickly broken. On to the Declaration of Independence. The declaration opens with the words "In the Land of Israel the J E W I S H people arose," and its heart is the claim to an independent Jewish state: "It is the natural right of the Jewish people to be, like all other nations, self-governing in its own sovereign state." One cannot be both a Zionist and a member of a Palestinian nationalist movement whose leaders firmly refuse to define the Islamo-Nazi Hamas movement, which massacred our people and raped our daughters, as a terrorist organization. It is hard to think of a more horrifying Zionist bankruptcy than your cynical joining, Yoav, of the ranks of the Islamic Movement. A joining whose one and only purpose is: another vote in the Knesset, at the price of whitewashing a terror-supporting Islamist Palestinian party. No prettified laundering of words will erase this disgrace. You write about division. It is hard to think of division, alienation and hatred of brothers harsher than those expressed in preferring Hamas-supporting Islamists over your brothers, the members of your own people, in the right-wing parties, in the religious-Zionist public and in the Haredi public. This is what a person looks like whose hatred of his brothers has driven him out of his mind. I have seen many strange and delusional things in Israeli politics, but I have never seen such a low. A Jewish police officer who joins an Islamist Palestinian nationalist movement, like some dhimmi in the name of a vague Israeli civic identity, is in my eyes a Zionist apocalypse, total bankruptcy and turning his back on his people and his homeland. Indeed, in your case the luster of the term Israel has dimmed, Mr. Segalovitz. You have managed to empty it of all content."
