Gil Avriel, 50, is a lawyer from Mevaseret Zion and a national security and international law expert. He spent 14 years at the National Security Council in the Prime Minister's Office, 12 of them as its legal adviser, advising four prime ministers and eight NSC heads. After 7 October 2023 he and released hostage Gadi Moses drew up the Moses-Avriel framework for a state commission of inquiry. He is a graduate of Harvard Kennedy School and Georgetown Law, teaches at Reichman University's Lauder School of Government, and is 31st on the Yashar! list.
