In this spirit, the steps I announced on September 8 have been implemented: 1. Removal of the British representatives from the international aid center for Gaza in Kiryat Gat. 2. Ending the British activity of training Palestinian Authority forces in Judea and Samaria. 3. Barring entry to Israel of 12 elected officials and other British citizens involved in antisemitic and anti-Israeli activity and those who deny the very existence of the State of Israel. 4. The British consulate in Jerusalem ends its activity today. Accordingly, the sign of the British consulate in Jerusalem has been removed. We didn't want to get to this, but the actions of the Labour government led us here. The latest decision in the series was to initiate a series of far-reaching sanctions against the settlements in Judea and Samaria, as well as additional sanctions concerning the expansion of the suspension of defense export licenses to Israel. All this, alongside hostile rhetoric that includes false accusations against Israel, such as "ethnic cleansing". This decision joins a growing and escalating series of unilateral steps against Israel adopted by the Labour government since it took office in July 2024. These steps included, among others, unilateral recognition of a virtual "Palestinian state" in September 2025; renewed funding for UNRWA; suspension of defense export licenses to Israel; imposing sanctions on Israeli ministers; imposing sanctions on Israeli individuals and entities; suspension of negotiations on a free trade agreement; restricting Israel's official participation in an international defense and security equipment exhibition in Britain; freezing military dialogue and security cooperation; barring IDF officers from participating in a course at the Royal College of Defence Studies; repeated, tendentious and one-sided attacks against Israel in the international arena. In the past week we held a dialogue with the British government with the aim of preventing further escalation in relations between the countries due to the closure of the consulate. Last night we reached understandings based on the following principles: 1. As I announced - the British consulate in Jerusalem ended its function today. The consul general and 20 diplomats (including the consul general) are ending their posts and will leave Israel. 2. The building that served the consulate is the property of the British government. We have authorized the British government to operate in the building, which has ceased today to serve as a consulate, a task team of only 7 diplomats with a very limited scope of activity. 3. We agreed on a continued dialogue between the governments, in which both sides will be able to raise the issues important to each of them. We believe in dialogue and will continue to believe in dialogue. Unfortunately, in recent years there has been no real dialogue with the Labour government. This, despite good relations with Britain, which are expressed among other things in security and intelligence cooperation. Relations between Israel and Britain are important, and have proven their value time and again, including in protecting the lives and interests of British citizens. Just recently Israel passed Britain vital information in the RAF Fairford affair. All four steps in my statement of September 8 - have been implemented. Alongside this, we reached understandings that serve Israeli interests. In accordance with the understandings we reached, no steps will be taken against Israel as a result of implementing the decisions. I thank everyone who engaged in the dialogue and the discussion and contributed to reaching understandings on both sides. I cannot promise that there will not be further crises in the future. If there are - we will face them on the basis of our principles. It is important to emphasize again that it was not we who initiated the current crisis. We are interested in good relations with all the countries of the world. But any country that acts against Israel should know that there will be a price for it. It will not profit from it, on the contrary. The period of Israeli containment is over - on both the security and the diplomatic level.

    גוש השינוי מסודר. הכי מסודר שהוא יכול להיות. טרופר בפנים, ארבע מפלגות - מספר זוגי עם הסכמי עודפים בלי להשאיר קולות על הרצפה, וכל המאמצים להוריד את גנץ מהמסלול כבר נעשו, כולל הצעות לתפקידים. כלפי חוץ הם מצליחים לייצר תמונה כמעט אידילית של אחדות. אפילו יאיר גולן כבר שלושה שבועות שותק, או לפחות משתדל לא להניח מטעני צד שמאל בדרכם של חבריו מהימין־מרכז. אין מתקפות פומביות, אין השמצות הדדיות, כולם משדרים יחסים טובים וכבוד הדדי. אפילו קבוצת וואטסאפ משותפת לראשי המטות כבר יש, לצורך תיאומים במקרי הצורך. אבל מאחורי הקלעים התמונה קצת אחרת, בעיקר בין שניים- יאיר לפיד וגדי איזנקוט. כלפי חוץ, יש כבוד, איפוק והימנעות מביקורת קשה. כולם מבינים שמריבות בתוך הגוש מבריחות מצביעים. אלא שמאחורי הקלעים לפיד ואיזנקוט סוחבים לא מעט בבטן זה על זה. הסיפור ביניהם מתחיל עוד ב־2022. אז התנהל משא ומתן רציני בין השניים, ואיזנקוט היה קרוב להצטרף ליש עתיד. דובר על המקום השני ברשימה ועל מקומות 7 ו 25 לאנשים מטעמו. השניים אפילו לחצו ידיים. אלא שברגע האחרון איזנקוט בחר ללכת עם בני גנץ. איזנקוט עצמו הסביר לאחר מכן שההצעה של לפיד הייתה נדיבה יותר, אבל שהוא העריך שלגנץ יש סיכוי טוב יותר להקים ממשלה ולכן בחר ללכת איתו והתייצב במקום השלישי אחרי גדעון סער. לפיד הוא פוליטיקאי שמייחס משמעות גדולה למילה, לחברות ולאמון. ראינו את זה גם בדרך שבה הצליח להחזיק את אנשיו כשהמציאות הפוליטית חייבה אותם לבלוע החלטות קשות בלי מרידות ובלי תרגילים. את הסיפור עם איזנקוט, ובעיקר את לחיצת היד שלא התממשה בסופו של דבר להסכם פוליטי, הוא לא שכח. מעבר למשקעי העבר, יש גם את ההווה. בשבוע החולף צץ לפתע גל של דיווחים, מאמרים ובעיקר פרשנויות שקוראות ליאיר לפיד לפרוש. מאמר ב"הארץ", פטפוט של בן כספית בעניין, ועוד פרשנים ומובילי דעת קהל שהעלו את אותה אפשרות. האם זה מקרי? האם כולם התעוררו באותו שבוע עם אותה מחשבה? או שמישהו במערכת הפוליטית דואג שהרעיון הזה יסתובב בחוץ? ביש עתיד, לפחות, יש מי שחושד שלא מדובר בצירוף מקרים. האצבע המאשימה מופנית לכיוון איזנקוט וסביבתו. וזה כבר לא סיפור על משקעי עבר, על כבוד או על אגו. זה סיפור פוליטי הרבה יותר משמעותי. @@@@@@@@@@@ אחרי סגירת הרשימות, ובזמן שנותר עד הבחירות, עיקר המאמץ של המפלגות יופנה כמובן להעברת מצביעים בין שני הגושים. אבל מתחת לפני השטח יתנהל קרב נוסף, חריף לא פחות: שתיית קולות בתוך הגושים עצמם. איזנקוט ינסה לקחת מצביעים מבנט ומלפיד. בנט ולפיד ינסו לקחת אותם בחזרה מאיזנקוט. לפי בדיקות וסקרים שונים, חלק משמעותי מאוד ממצביעי יש עתיד בעבר עברו כעת לאיזנקוט — בחלק מהבדיקות מדובר בלפחות 40 אחוזים. לפיד לא מתכוון לוותר עליהם. מבחינתו, אלה לא מצביעים אבודים אלא קולות שצריך להחזיר הביתה. וזה חשוב הרבה מעבר לשאלת מספר המנדטים של יש עתיד. כי במידה טגוש השינוי ינצח, השאלה הגדולה של היום שאחרי תהיה מי בתוכו יוכל לדרוש את ראשות הממשלה. יש הבדל דרמטי בין תוצאה שבה איזנקוט מגיע עם 24 מנדטים ובנט ולפיד עם 15 כל אחד, לבין תוצאה שבה איזנקוט מקבל 20 ובנט ולפיד מתקרבים אליו עם 18. בתרחיש הראשון, איזנקוט הוא כמעט בעל הבית. בשני, הכול פתוח. פתאום אפשר לדבר על רוטציה. פתאום בנט וליברמן יכולים להניח על השולחן טיעון אחר: לנו יש ניסיון כראש ממשלה וכשרים בכירים, יחד אנחנו מחזיקים הרבה יותר מנדטים, אנחנו נוביל את הממשלה — ואיזנקוט יקבל את תיק הביטחון. ואלה רק שניים מתוך אינספור תרחישים אפשריים. לכן הקרב בתוך גוש השינוי רק מתחיל. מבחוץ הם יחמיאו זה לזה ויקפידו לא לשבור את הכלים. בפנים הם יילחמו על כל מנדט, משום שכל מנדט שעובר מלפיד לאיזנקוט, מאיזנקוט לבנט או מבנט ללפיד לא משנה בהכרח את גודל הגוש אבל הוא יכול לשנות לחלוטין את מאזן הכוחות בתוכו. ובבחירות האלה, ייתכן שהשאלה הדרמטית לא תהיה רק איזה גוש ניצח. אלא מי ניצח בתוך הגוש שניצח. An article in Haaretz, some chatter by Ben Caspit on the matter, and other commentators and opinion leaders who raised the same possibility. Is it coincidental? Did everyone wake up the same week with the same thought? Or is someone in the political system making sure this idea circulates out there? In Yesh Atid, at least, there are those who suspect it is not a coincidence. The accusing finger is pointed toward Eisenkot and his circle. And this is no longer a story about past resentments, about honor or ego. It's a much more significant political story. @@@@@@@@@@@ After the slates closed, and in the time remaining until the election, the parties' main effort will of course be directed at moving voters between the two blocs. But beneath the surface another battle will be waged, no less fierce: cannibalizing votes within the blocs themselves. Eisenkot will try to take voters from Bennett and Lapid. Bennett and Lapid will try to take them back from Eisenkot. According to various checks and polls, a very significant part of past Yesh Atid voters have now moved to Eisenkot — in some checks at least 40 percent. Lapid doesn't intend to give up on them. As far as he's concerned, they're not lost voters but votes that need to be brought back home. And this is important far beyond the question of Yesh Atid's number of seats. Because if the change bloc wins, the big question of the day after will be who within it can demand the premiership. There is a dramatic difference between an outcome in which Eisenkot arrives with 24 seats and Bennett and Lapid with 15 each, and an outcome in which Eisenkot gets 20 and Bennett and Lapid approach him with 18. In the first scenario, Eisenkot is almost the landlord. In the second, everything is open. Suddenly one can talk about rotation. Suddenly Bennett and Liberman can put a different argument on the table: we have experience as prime minister and as senior ministers, together we hold many more seats, we will lead the government — and Eisenkot will get the defense portfolio. And these are only two out of countless possible scenarios. Therefore the battle within the change bloc is only beginning. Outwardly they will compliment each other and take care not to break the dishes. Inside they will fight over every seat, because every seat that moves from Lapid to Eisenkot, from Eisenkot to Bennett or from Bennett to Lapid doesn't necessarily change the size of the bloc, but it can completely change the balance of power within it. And in this election, the dramatic question may not be only which bloc won. But who won within the bloc that won. (Weekend column, Walla)

These steps included, among others, recognition of a virtual "Palestinian state" in September 2025; renewal of funding for UNRWA, even though its employees were actively involved in the October 7 massacre; suspension of defense export licenses to Israel (and today we learned of the intention to expand these bans); imposing sanctions on Israeli ministers; imposing sanctions on Israeli individuals and entities; suspending negotiations on a free trade agreement; restricting Israel's official participation in the DSEI exhibition (an international defense and security equipment exhibition) in Britain; freezing military dialogue and security cooperation; preventing IDF officers from participating in a course at the Royal College of Defence Studies; and promoting repeated, tendentious and one-sided attacks against Israel in the international arena. Today's accusations by the Labour government's foreign secretary in the British Parliament were outrageous and false. Let me make clear in advance: we have nothing against the British people. We know we have many friends in Britain. Unfortunately, a hostile Labour government is in office, which acts systematically against the State of Israel, and it has left us no choice but to respond to its hostile moves. The Labour government in Britain decided to initiate a series of harsh sanctions against the settlements in Judea and Samaria as well as additional sanctions in the arms field – Mr. Miliband said this immediately after speaking about Israel's right to defend itself. I would say there's a certain contradiction here, but we'll manage. They chose to do this on the eve of the Jewish New Year for internal political reasons ahead of the Labour conference convening this month. The British move is morally distorted and constitutes blatant interference in the affairs of a sovereign state and in its election campaign. The British Labour government's attempt to lead "White Paper"-style decrees smells bad and recalls the antisemitic statement of British Lieutenant-General Barker, commander of British forces in the Land of Israel during the British Mandate, who sought "to punish the Jews by hitting them in their pockets." The Jewish people have the right to live throughout the Land of Israel. The connection and right of the Jewish people to this land are documented more extensively than those of any other people in human history. The step by the Labour government in Britain is especially absurd given the fact that more than a hundred years ago, it was the British government's Balfour Declaration that officially recognized the historic right of the Jewish people to re-establish their national home in the Land of Israel – including in the areas in question. This declaration served as the foundation for the British Mandate, was recognized by the League of Nations and was later adopted in Article 80 of the United Nations Charter. A boycott of goods from Judea and Samaria is a despicable practice that harms a productive, law-abiding public. Sanctions against people and commercial entities working to develop the settlements are abhorrent. The Labour government decided to use this practice of boycotts and BDS only against the Jewish state and, as is its way, discriminates against Israel in the steps it takes against it. Contrary to the Labour government's false claims, no new decisions whatsoever were made regarding development in E1. The decision on the matter was made more than a year ago and the tender process has been going on for many months. The claims regarding cutting off potential Palestinian territorial contiguity are also baseless: the Israeli government's decision made more than a year ago stipulated that two roads would be paved: the first, Route 80, which will serve as a main transportation artery from the Bethlehem area to the Ramallah area; the second, called the "fabric of life" road, between al-Za'im and al-Eizariya. The claim of harm to "Palestinian territorial contiguity" sounds especially ridiculous coming from those who insist on defining Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Strip as "one territorial unit." The Labour government's decision also constitutes crude interference in the election campaign of a sovereign state. This is a blatant and completely unacceptable attempt by a foreign government to exert influence from outside in the midst of an election campaign. However, the Israeli public supports by a massive majority the settlements in Judea and Samaria and overwhelmingly opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state in the heart of our land, something the Labour government is trying, with moves doomed to fail, to impose on Israel. After all we've seen: after the Israeli concessions in the Oslo Accords and the unilateral withdrawal from Gaza, the Second Intifada and October 7 – the Israeli public rejects with both hands the establishment of a jihadist terror state in the heart of our land. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an age-old conflict. Unfortunately, the Palestinians have always rejected proposals to resolve it and have never parted with terror and incitement. This conflict will not be resolved by declarations from London or Paris, and a one-sided anti-Israel approach only pushes the possibility of reaching a solution further away instead of bringing it closer. It is especially astonishing that governments like the Labour government don't even consider imposing sanctions on the Palestinian Authority for its systematic budgetary support of terror through the notorious "PAY FOR SLAY" payment mechanism. British one-sidedness also ignores the ongoing Palestinian terror against Israeli citizens, which we saw in action this week too. I say to the Labour government and to every government in the world that is thinking of forcing Israel to act against our national and security interests: you have no chance of succeeding. We did not return to our land after 2,000 years to lose it under pressure from jihadists, Islamists, antisemites and wokes. Not only will you not harm us. You will harm yourselves, your influence. And note: the Palestinians too will be directly harmed by your steps. There are tens of thousands of Palestinian workers employed in the settlements, and these sanctions will harm them.
