below the threshold in recent polls

The Achi movement is the political arm of the followers of the late Rabbi Yoram Abergel of Netivot. Its local list, founded by his son Rabbi Haim Yosef David Abergel, became the largest faction on the Netivot city council in the 2024 municipal elections with 7 of 17 seats, ahead of a combined Shas–UTJ list. It announced a national run in June 2026, headed by Rabbi Yuval Elmalech, director of the Abergel educational institutions. Rabbi Haim Abergel is identified with support for core curriculum studies and is not opposed to Haredi enlistment.
